As a woman in her late 60s, my face has undergone a lot of ‘fading’, meaning my features are much less defined than when I was younger. My make-up style is all about restoring definition to my eyebrows, eyes, cheeks and lips.

I have always eaten healthily and have never smoked or drunk alcohol because of migraines. I have used meditation for years to calm myself and to deal with stress.

I avoid anything low fat because my face benefits from good fats in my diet, such as nuts, avocados, goat’s cheese, greek yoghurt and olive oil.

I trained as a make-up artist before I launched LFF in 2013 and this has made me a lot more confident with my make-up. Approaching 70, I feel that looking beautiful is more, not less, important to me. Society expects me to be invisible but I refuse to fade away. I will be wearing red lipstick until the day I’m six feet under!

My mother (who died when she was 67) was very youthful-looking and her skin was relatively unlined. I have inherited that – along with her pear-shaped body, which I deal with by wearing dark colours below the waist and brighter colours above.
